Losing weight can be a super tough thing, especially if you're stuck in the 9-5 grind, constantly being on the go with a hectic schedule... and on the days that you DO have off, you're most likely catching up with friends and family, spending time with your kids, etc...
Leaving you no time to spend on yourself!
You're probably feeling like you've been neglecting yourself and your personal health and fitness and you're probably right... In fact most people are!
It's only natural that we as human beings, care more for others than we do for ourselves, but sometimes we have to take a step back and say... 'I've got to take care of myself first, before I can take care of anyone else'.. I truly believe that.
Now we completely understand that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% training... There is simply no lack of information on the internet that is for sure...
But how can you fit a great diet into your busy lifestyle!? Is it even possible?
Here are the 6 easy diet tips, that you can use in your busy lifestyle, to get you seeing some solid weight loss... Even with your crazy schedule...
1. Go for salads!
I've always lost weight eating salads... I personally love them and they've been a staple in my diet for over 10 years now!
Salads are easy to purchase on the go here in Australia... there is just so many places... Among some of which, Sumo Salad.
Salads will help you to lose weight, because they are tasty, convenient and nutritious... Make sure to fill up on things like roast chicken, salmon, beef salads, with as much vegetables as possible...
2. Go for low carb buns
I've lately been really digging going to Grilld Burger, for my weekly cheat days. But in fact, they have a lot of healthier alternatives, because of their low carb buns, which you can opt in for!
If you're on the go and you have a Grilld Burger joint close to your area, go for their plain options, such as Simply Grilld Beef burger, or the Sweet chili chicken burger on a low carb bun, which are just over 500 calories each and packed with protein, but yet low carb.
Try to go for wholegrain, low carb buns or even wholemeal tortillas if available, to make sure you're getting enough fiber in your diet, which will help to fill you up and reduce cravings.
3. Pack some protein bars with you
If you're going to a friends or family house, like I will be today.. Chances are your friends/family will have some delicious, but not so weight loss friendly food to offer you..
Preparation is key!
Go to your local Coles or Woolworths supermarket and grab some protein bars, such as Aussie Bodies or Quest Bars.
The extra protein will keep you full while you're catching up with your friends and can be a neat little trick to keep those cravings down.
4. Pack some almonds with you
A great way to keep up with your healthy fats and to have something to snack on are almonds!
They are so convenient because you can bring them in a zip lock bag and snack on 10-20 almonds at a time.
Only bring 20-30 Almonds Max with you in a zip lock bag, because if you bring the whole bag, the chances of you eating over 1000 calories of almonds will increase rapidly... They are just so easy to eat, that we can forget that although they are healthy, they are packed with calories...
Snack on 10-20 almonds at a time, to curb your snacking cravings, but yet to get in your healthy monounsaturated fats for the day.
5. Opt in for chicken/beef and lots of veg
If you're going out for a catch up with some friends or family at a restaurant, but still looking to stay on track with your weight loss goals...
Opt in for a grilled chicken breast and seasonal veg, lean beef steak and veg or a roast chicken/prawn salad...
Most restaurants have some 'hidden' healthy options. So what I would do, I would spend just 10mins looking up the restaurants menu on my phone, just to prepare some of the food in my mind, that I want to order.
This can make your order a lot faster, plus it can mentally prepare you for eating healthy...
6. Bring a water bottle with you
I'm very conscious of getting enough water during the day... And most days, if I don't consciously remind myself to stay on track and keep drinking... I simply forget.
By having a big 1.5-2L water bottle with you handy at all times, you can get in your required water intake for the day, plus it will keep your stomach full!
A neat little trick to use is, to drink 500ml-1L of water before having your meal, that way your stomach thinks that it's partially full...
This means that you are most likely going to eat less food and get fuller a lot quicker!
